We visited the Taupo Waste Water Treatment Plant to find out.  We were amazed at what goes down the drain!!!

Green and Keen Class Treat

On Friday the class decided what our class treat would be.  To my surprise they wanted to spend their Friday afternoon picking up rubbish in to park near our school! Our kids are AWESOME!!!

Letter from Emma

We received this email from Emma a few days ago...

Hey guys,
Whats up nothing is really going on around here except from great shops, a new school and in wellington there is a smiggle shop bigger than the rm 3 class room don't mean to brag anyways I miss you all so much and cant wait to see you all again sometime I hope you guys had a great time on camp and I would love to hear back from you all and hear how much fun you had. In my new class there are 51 student including me and we have 2 full time teachers called Mrs XXXX and Ms XXXXX we also have Mrs XXXXX on Wednesday and Mr XXXXX on Friday and we have our Italian teacher who teaches us Italian its a bit busy but everything gets done in the end    so who are the new student councilors I want the details.

Farewell Freyr-Eli

Today we said good bye to Freyr-Eli and his family.  After spending 18 months living, experiencing and becoming "KIWI's" they are going back to Iceland. Although Freyr isn't in Room 3 this year he was in Mrs Griffin's class last year and the year before. We will miss you Frey!!  Take care and safe travels.

Golf - Ella and Oliver

It was a beautiful sunny day and Oliver Monkman, Ella-Rose Brown, Oscar McDougall and Zac Harrison competed in 2014 Primary/Intermediate Bay of Plenty School Golf Champs.

Held at Wai-o-Tapu golf course,  it was attended by students from as far Omokoroa.

Waipahihi students represented the school in a professional and admirable manner.

A great day was had and fantastic results.

Zac played his first ever 9 holes off yellow tees. A huge step up and learning experience for Zac who coped extremely well in his first representative game.

The winner of the boys 9 hole primary section was Oscar McDougall returning a gross score of 53.

Ella-Rose Brown took out the girls 9 hole primary section as gross score winner with 68.

This resulted in Waipahihi Primary School finishing second in team event.

A fantastic result Waipahihi School should be proud of.

Oliver Monkman was the only 18 hole Waipahihi player in the 18 hole section so went up against all the Intermediate boys. A tough field, so was extremely excited to take out second place gross score with an impressive 86 round.

Waipahihi certainly was represented by a group of children who showed great skill, great attitude and as you can see achieving great results. Well done 

Room 3's Student Councillors

Congratulations to Abi, Ranger and Ethan.  After a class vote, where children voted for unnamed submissions, our top three applicants were selected. The applications had to explain why we should choose them, what their interests were and how they inspired others.
